The second International Half Marathon in Georgia hosted 1500 participants from more than 25 countries

On the 26th of October 2013, HeidelbergCement, one of the biggest investors in Georgia and a leader in building materials production held the second half marathon around Tbilisi Sea, branded as “TBILISIMARATHON”. The event was dedicated to charity and healthy lifestyle promotion.

“TbilisiMarathon” is qualified as Half Marathon - 21.0975km, where all those who are willing - amateurs and professionals can participate. This year TbilisiMarathon hosted more than 1500 participants from more than 25 countries.

 The overall winners at the half marathon were, in the men’s section, Mr. Anatoli Olenikov who ran 21 kilometers in 1 hour, 15 minutes and 17 seconds. As for the women, Mrs. Marielle Carmagnolle was the fastest with the result of 1 hour, 40 minutes and 19 seconds. In summary, the fastest companies and organizations were as follows: Area Publishing House, Bank Republic and Georgian Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. The winners were announced in nine different categories and 54 participants with the best scores received medals, certificates, computer, digital utilities and sports accessories.

 The project is implemented under the aegis of HeidelbergCement and the patronage of the Georgian Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the German Embassy to Georgia.

 „TbilisiMarathon“ meets all international standards. Winners are revealed using rules approved all over the world by German Company Mika Timing “Official Timekeeping and Data Processing”. "TbilisiMarathon" (half marathon; 21.0975) participants get online certificates, where exact time of crossing finish lines are resulted. Mika Timing service is tested on Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin marathons.
